Executive Team

The WIBC is managed by an executive board of student volunteers from the John Molson School of Business graduate programs.  The President and VP-Mentorship Program serve terms from May to April.  All other positions serve terms from September to April.  The executive team meets twice a month and works together in the planning and execution of all WIBC events and programs.

2011-2012 WIBC Executive Team: 

PRESIDENT: Sarah Cundiff (MBA Candidate)

The President's role entails leading the overall strategy and organization of the WIBC, ensuring that the club is a welcoming association for all women JMSB graduate students.  She is in charge of recruiting and managing the Executive Team, and works closely with all Executive Team members during the course of the year, conducting bi-montly Executive Team meetings.  She represents the club at official functions, including new student orientation events and John Molson Graduate Student Association (JMGSA) meetings, and acts as a liaison with the Dean of Student's Office ensuring the club adheres to University policies.  She plays a key role in ensuring the continuity of the Mentorship Program and Annual Conference, attending Mentorship Program and Conference Committee meetings.  She is also responsible for setting the annual budget and ensuring adequate funding is secured.

 

VP-MENTORSHIP PROGRAM: Joelle Parent-Proulx (MBA Candidate)

The VP-Mentorship Program manages all aspects of the WIBC Mentorship Program.  In addition to Executive Team meetings, she attends regular Mentorship Program meetings, and works very closely with an external consultant who voluntarily assists the club in securing mentors from the local business community.  She acts as the primary point of contact for all mentees, reviewing new mentee applications and interviewing interested mentees. She plays a key role in the pairing of new mentees with mentors, and communicates regularly with mentees inviting them to mentorship program events and conducting follow-up with all mentees several months after their mentoring has begun.  She ensures all women JMSB graduate students are aware of the mentorship program, and attends new student orientation events representing the program.

 

VP-EVENTS: Amber Du (MBA-CFA Candidate), Dana El-Hanouni (MBA-CFA Candidate), and Nada Halwani(MBA Candidate)

The VP-Events are the project managers for all club event logistics.  They take the lead on space bookings, food & beverage orders, catering supplies, and any other logistics related to events.  They are assisted in the planning and at all events by the entire Executive team.  The club hosts approximately one event per month, plus three additional events in November related to the Mentorship Program.  They work closely with the the VP-Mentorship Program and Conference Co-chairs to organize the logistics for those events.  Plus, they work closely with the VP-Finance to ensure event budgets are adhered to and reconciled, and with the VP-Membership & Communications to ensure all event details are advertised in advance and to track event attendance.

 

CONFERENCE CHAIR: Sarah Cundiff (MBA Candidate)

The WIBC will host its 4th Annual Conference in March, 2012.  The Conference takes places over the course of an afternoon and evening, and includes various speakers and a networking cocktail.  The Conference Chair is the lead project manager for this large annual event.  She is assisted by the entire Executive Team in organizing and executing the many details that are involved in planning the event, particularly on the day of the event.

 

VP-MEMBERSHIP & COMMUNICATIONS: Anureet Gill (MBA Candidate)

The VP-Membership & Communications drafts all messaging for club activities and is responsible for disseminating club information via emails, the website, social media (Facebook and Twitter), and e-newsletters.  She works very closely with the VP-Events, the VP-Marketing, and the President, to ensure that all events and programs are advertised to members and the general public as needed.  She also manages the club's membership records, general mailing list, and event attendance records.

 

VP-MARKETING: Tina Poon (MSc Candidate)

The VP-Marketing designs all marketing material for club events and programs.  Working closely with the VP-Events and VP-Membership & Communications, she pulls together information into a consistent format for publication to the website and via email.  She uses simple graphic design techniques to create compelling marketing material for club activities.  Working closely with the Conference Co-chairs, she designs and manages the printing of all material related to the Conference, including a logo and brochure.  She also manages the club's website, working closely with the entire Executive Team to make sure the web pages are updated as necessary.

 

VP-SPONSORSHIPS & ALUMNI RELATIONS: Shayesta Chattoo (GDBA Candidate)

The VP-Sponsorships & Alumni Relations works closely with the John Molson School of Business alumni and development offices, as well as various other departments on campus, to seek out funding opportunities for the club's programs.  She researches relevant grant opportunities and submits grant applications and other funding proposals.  She also seeks out in-kind sponsors for the Annual Conference, and ensures that all sponsors are represented in marketing materials per sponsorship agreements.  In addition, she strives to create a long-lasting relationship between the WIBC and all women alumni of JMSB graduate programs. 

 

VP-FINANCE: Isabelle Gendron (MBA Candidate)

The VP-Finance keeps track of the club budget.  She collects expense receipts from the Executive Team and reconciles all club expenses.  She works very closely with the VP-Events to ensure all club events adhere to allocated budgets and also works very closely with the President to keep ensure accurate book-keeping of all the club's accounts. She works closely with the VP-Membership & Communications to collect membership revenues, with the VP-Events to collect event revenues, and with the VP-Sponsorship & Alumni Relations to collect funding revenues.  She presents a detailed finance report at the Executive Team's bi-monthly meetings.
